How to Stand Out in the Crowd
Meir had a friend who ran a medical billing business, and yet another friend who created an online scheduling website for parent teacher conferences. A tall glass of some good single malt created the fuel needed to put these two business models together, and the idea to do online scheduling and patient messaging in the health care field was born! Except that there were already a dozen companies out there doing the same thing, so how would his offering stand out?
So Meir took his idea to the street to find out how he could get the most traction. “Just because you have a good idea doesn’t mean anyone’s going to pay you for it.” What he found was that medical providers, particularly those in the dental space, wanted to be able to send regular text messages back and forth with their patients. No short code or email-based impostors, but the real thing, just like we do with our friends and family. He also found that practices were looking to enable their patients to schedule real appointments online.
The Rocky Road From Vision to Reality
Making these ideas a reality presented Meir with some real challenges, and fortunately for him, he loves a good challenge. So he set about on a quest to find a software developer who could help him achieve what to date has not been done by anyone else: A true 2-way texting platform and a real online scheduler. No problem, right?
But after months of searching, Meir had not yet found the developer he was looking for. At one point, Meir almost threw in the towel, and to be fair, most people would have. “Not being able to get your idea off the ground,” he says, “is like losing the keys to your brand new car.” But Meir kept pushing, and eventually found the perfect CTO who helped him put it all together, the immortal Yosef. And the rest is history.
Giving Credit Where it’s Due
And what does Meir have to say about all this? “The company’s success and my own perseverance was made possible by the support of my wife and my parents. Without their constant encouragement even in the hardest times, the company
wouldn’t be where it is today.”
About his clients Meir says, “We are only satisfied if we can improve each client’s relationship with their patients, and help them grow their practice. And we will keep working with each client until those goals are met.”
He concludes, “our success is measured by our clients’ satisfaction.” Who can argue with that?
